Can You Have Symptoms of a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Not Know It?
I did. I was symptomatic for over 2 decades with anxiety and depression and could not figure out why.
You can go to a psychologist and talk about your problems until you are blue in the face. They call this trauma therapy. They will help you sift through your past and all of the potentially tramatic experiences that you have ever had. They will analyze your experiences and help you see how they impact your present moment. This process may be helpful for some people, but for others it can actually exacerbate feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. I believe that reorienting yourself to the present moment does not require you to sift through the tragedies and wreckage of your past.
You can go to a psychiatrist and you can get medications. These “Drs” know how to make diagnosis and prescribe medications. It will be like throwing sphagetti at the wall to see whay sticks. They will be happy to try medications out on you to see what helps. This process really helps some people and for others the side effects of the medication or the addiction challenges that are created make their experience even more unbearable.
At Kevindeescoaching.com we cannot change you, but you can and will find change.
We help you find simple and easy tools to reorient yourself to the present moment. These tools are invaluable when it comes to healing from a stress disorder. We believe that the quality (not quantity) of your sleep is one of the main obstacles to allowing a power greater then yourself to heal you. Delta wave sleep is greatly reduced and sometimes almost nonexistent in trauma and stress disordered people. They may be sleeping 10-15 hours a day and still not getting enough restorative delta wave sleep.
Our secrets can make us sick. While it is not required to go through everything that has ever happened to you in horroring detail… At some point in you healing journey, you must find and connect with your tribe of people. Connection is the oppostie of addiction and is at the heart of any successful healing modality. If you are symptomatic with a stress disorder, it is understandable that real connection is hard or even impossible for you right now. But, as you start to heal, it will be important for you to connect with other humans and to be rigourosly honest about your journey.
Did You Know That Stress Disorder Symptoms Effect Your Memory?
At Kevindeescoaching.com, we are well aware of all of the tricks that stress disorders play on the human mind and body in the form of anxiety and depression. The fight of flight response of the human body is miraculous… but like everything else… it is also flawed and it can malfunction. Imagine a hard drive that has zero RAM. It is full and its processing speed is greatly diminished. This is great news for you… space can be created on your hard drive. It is a process, but it may be closer then you think with the right coaching and guidance. We will give you some simple and easy tools to help you until you have freed up some space… so to speak.
